Hallelujah! The Bible and Handel's MessiahDuring the month of December, find some time to listen to Handel's Messiah (the full version.) In January we will begin a study on the 2nd & 3rd parts -- Christ's Passion. You will probably be more familiar with the Christmas parts of the music. However, the 2nd & 3rd parts provide the undergirding of Jesus' passion, death and resurrection and will form the basis of this study. Music will be related to the appropriate scripture. This study is offered with the hope of helping each person explore and come to their own understanding of the topic. Wednesdays, 9/28 - 10/26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. ********** Paul's Letter to the Philippians ******************* Rediscovering Holy Week The Last Week: What the Gospels Really Teach About Jesus's Final Days in Jerusalem Journey with us for six weeks through The Last Week by scholars Marcus Borg andJohn Dominic Crossan. Led by Annie McMillan, we will discuss Mark’s account of the last week of Jesus’ final days in Jerusalem. Through the book, we will look at the historical context along with what Christ’s life and death can mean for us today. We will read and discuss one to two 30-page chapters each week. downstairs in the Christian Education building at 6:15pm.
