Hallelujah!  The Bible and Handel's Messiah

During the month of December, find some time to listen to Handel's Messiah (the full version.)
In January we will begin a study on the 2nd & 3rd parts -- Christ's Passion.  You will probably be more familiar with the Christmas parts of the music.  However, the 2nd & 3rd parts provide
the undergirding of Jesus' passion, death and resurrection and will form the basis of this study.
Music will be related to the appropriate scripture.
Monday evenings, beginning January 16, 2012

Rediscovering Holy Week

The Last Week: What the Gospels Really Teach About Jesus's Final Days in Jerusalem

Journey with us for six weeks through The Last Week by scholars Marcus Borg and
John Dominic Crossan. Led by Annie McMillan, we will discuss Mark’s account of the last
week of Jesus’ final days in Jerusalem. Through the book, we will look at the historical context
along with what Christ’s life and death can mean for us today.

We will read and discuss one to two 30-page chapters each week.
We will meet during Lent on
Tuesdays (3/15 - 4/19/2011)

downstairs in the Christian Education building at 6:15pm.
